Use of a particular location enables thinking to move from theory to practical application and the real knowledge and reflection that can arise in consequence. These articles have examined digital and physical library design considerations, as well as how to gather data to guide our decisions. This time the focus is on the teams that will support student learning and teaching practice as they use information to learn (Bruce, 2008) in the library. It looks at the opportunities for new areas of expertise in the library and information service field, and the attendant evolving job descriptions. The key concept explored is that an Information Commons, its function, location and staffing and how that might work to enhance and evolve new ideas of library and library staffing.</p> ER -
