Creating a school-wide reading culture

Abstract

Our New Zealand colleagues share recent research in Communities of Readers, a nationwide initiative that brings together stakeholders to build culturally responsive reading environments for children and young people. This work has feed into the development of the National Library’s Reading Community Framework, Reading Culture Review tools, and School Reading Culture Roadmap. This article offers excellent practical examples of how we can all improve school wide reading cultures.
